How do I install new applications?

Applications are the lifeblood of any operating system. Thanks to our users, we have an extensive list of apps that continues to grow every day. Here's how to find, demo, install, and uninstall apps using YouOS's Installer tool.

NOTE: We cover installing only released applications here.
  1. Log in at YouOS.com.
  2. Once your desktop loads, click on the "Stuff" menu in the upper left-hand corner and go to "Add/Remove Apps " which is found below the list of applications. This will open the Installer.
  3. The Installer defaults to "Manage.." and will display a list of the already installed applications in your Stuff menu.

How do I find and search for new applications?

  1. Click on "Add New.." in the upper left-hand corner of the Installer menu.
  2. In order to find applications, type in search terms to find applications by name and click "search name," and/or use the pulldown menus to browse by Creator, Category, Sort by, or Released. Apps not currently installed on your system will have gray buttons for both "Demo" and "Install." Apps already installed will only have a "Demo" botton.

How do I install and try out a new application?

  1. Click the "Demo" button next to an application to try it out before installing it.
  2. To install an application and add it to your Stuff menu, click the "Install" button.

How do I uninstall an application?

  1. Click on "Manage.." in the upper left-hand side of the Installer menu.
  2. Next to the application that you would like to remove from your Stuff menu, click "Uninstall." This will automatically make the application disappear.
